Falchion Class

Name: NCCS Crystal Falchion
Type: Deep Space Explorer
Class: Crystal Falchion
Complement: 1500
Commissioned from: Colourbrand
The Crystal Falchion is the newest explorer type vessel in Carpathia's fleet and is considered an evolution of the Shadowdancer-class. Though the crew complement is only 50% larger than the Shadowdancer, the size is considerably larger. As it is intended for deep space missions, possibly going for years without encountering another starbase, the Crystal Falchion is designed with crew comfort in mind. It has many spaces for recreation, weapons, and science labs. Though it has ample space for food storage and hydroponics, this ship is also the first to use a protein resequencer to supplement the food stores.

Status: Destroyed when Admiral Zhang flew it at full speed into the Blood Agony's hangar.

Name: NCCS Frozen Flame
Type: Deep Space Explorer
Class: Crystal Falchion
Complement: 1500
Commissioned from: Colourbrand
Frozen Flame is the second ship of the Falchion-class, but the fourth to be completed. After the first began testing in space, the Frozen Flame incorporated lessons learned in the shipyard, undergoing many modifications. It remained partially incomplete when the Vashtari invasion occurred and, due to lack of weapons, was relegated to ferrying supplies and refugees between Carpathia and Tokkastra. At war's end, the Frozen Flame is the last functional Falchion class ship in the fleet and Carpathians, with the help of Tokkastra and Draconis, are rushing to complete it.

Name: NCCS Shadowdancer-A
Type: Deep Space Explorer
Class: Crystal Falchion
Complement: 1500
Commissioned from: Colourbrand
Shadowdancer-A is the fourth ship in the Crystal Falchion-class and the third to take active service. It is the first of any ship in the fleet to be fitted with concentrated particle weapons. Click the above image for more views and bridge images.

The majority of the complement is scientists and researchers. Before the Shadowdancer class, research took place on cramped, uncomfortable ships. Shadowdancer includes not only a vast array of research facilities but is also designed for comfort, with many relaxation and recreational amenities.
